The pools are nice and the chairs are very comfortable. However, the pools are very cold most of the year and management will not consider adding a heater. Dues increase yearly and members are not asked for opinions on how to improve amenities. One of the two pools has been out of service for 2 months. If I could withdraw my membership I would. Biggest downside is the lack of pool heating.
Most classes/events offered require an additional fee and some have limited capacity. For example I was unable to secure a spot for my kids for the Easter egg hunts and some craft nights. The events are cute though when you are able to get a spot.
Nice place overall. Was visiting from Seattle and you definitely won't seen open areas like these there. Mostly came here for the outdoor gym which is actually pretty good. Has the entire thing toyself be ause nobody else really ever used it. I wish they had an indoor one. I used the tennis and pickleball courts as well, which were not very busy. You could always find at least 1-2 open courts. They had hot cocoa for Christmas, but that ran out fast. They also have a basketball court, big pool and mini water park for kids, but I didn't use any of those during my time there.
The facilities are alright. The kids pool is cute but the rest isn’t well thought out. Poor lighting, no pool heating, limited hours, additional fees for classes or reservations, the list goes on. But the real problem is that residents are forced in to paying an annual fee that rises every year with no ability to opt out. When we first moved to the area years ago, we planned on using the lap pools and the “indoor gym” someone at Viera Builders promised. There is no indoor gym and no plan for that. The mosquitoes are bad and the water is cold so there is a very small window of time when the lap pool is actually pleasant. Really, we’ve hardly been there because it has nothing for us and unfortunately are stuck paying for it. We got swindled 🙃at least it looks pretty from the outside.
Oh, and the one time I brought my family along to let the kids play in the pool, I had to pay for one extra guest because we exceeded the limit for the number of people I can bring in with me. 🤡
The kids enjoy the pool for the months it’s available. But even in spring the water is cold and the kids are shivering so it’s not able to be used. Residents were charged and increase in fees and when asked to see the budget/ allocation of funds we were told it’s a private company and they did not need to provide it to us. No indoor gym, and extra for reserving the community spaces or any classes. There is no opt out for us, it’s required. But when we were looking into building in this area, we were promised different amenities than what is provided here. And when the new fees were posted, residents questioned and had suggestion- but Shane denied them all and states there are no intentions of meeting those requests (lightning at the tennis courts, change in hours, indoor gym, pool heaters). I wish we could opt out of this
The club looks good from the outside but there is not enough space indoors and cost may not be a good value given the limited benefits. It needs more indoor sitting areas and other amenities. The pool has recently been out of service but there is no talk of partial refunds!
Those of us who live in the Viera neighborhoods are fortunate to have the Addison Village Club. The staff are friendly and always willing to help with questions. It is clean, with extensive services, many of which are included in the annual dues: Tennis courts, pickleball courts, Bacci, outdoor circuit training equipment, and of course the pools. Then there are meeting rooms, picnic areas available to rent, and various events that are free, or a nominal fee. Tennis and pickleball instruction is available as well.
There is a range of fitness classes, led by a knowledgeable, friendly instructor who adjusts the workouts to the individuals' fitness level. Classes include: Yoga, Pilates, Total Body Conditioning, and in the summer, Aqua Fit. The individual classes offer an almost personal-trainer type of workout for a very reasonanble fee when compared to joining another facility.
Overpriced and under deliver is their motto. They charge over $675 which is mandatory for many residents and nickel and dime everyone for any event or usage of parts of the clubhouse. It's a disgrace to see anyone give more than one star to this corrupt establishment created by Viera Company LLC.
What was promised to residents: two resort style pools, they delivered non-heated pools that continuously have issues.
A state of the art workout gym, they recently put some outdoor equipment which is not even close to a real gym.
A basketball court, it's a half court my friends that is not even available during most of the times.
You can not access this as a working professional as it closes at sundown. What use is this establishment when 95% of your population can't even use it due to making money to feed into this pathetic establishment?
There is a long list of fake promises from Viera Company, but hey they got good lawyers!
If you like paying more money year over year to receive less, this is the place for you.
Pools that are constantly broke and not heated, no lights on outdoor courts, no food offerings, small indoor court that is always booked, outdoor "gym" that is never used (who wants an outdoor gym in Florida?!), unfriendly staff, no option for 2000+ residents to opt out over ever increasing annual fees.
